12 Best power banks compatible with iPhone and iPad (2023 update). Power bank iPhone 8

Best Power Banks for Charging Up Your Phone on the Go

These days our smartphones are practically an extension of us. And when it comes to traveling, they serve as mobile boarding passes, guidebooks, GPS navigation systems and cameras. There’s almost nothing worse than watching your smartphone hit the dreaded 20% battery indicator and then drain down as you pray it guides you to your next destination before it shuts down. A portable phone charger can charge up your smartphone on the go and as much as we all depend on our phones for these days, it’s an invaluable tech tool to have on hand. There’s thousands of power bank chargers out there, and they definitely aren’t all created equal. We’ve tested our fair share of them with our iPhones and rounded up our favorites based on their charging-up power and portability. No matter whether you’re headed out in to the wilds for a rugged outdoor adventure or on your next city break, these are the best power banks for charging up your phone on the go.

The Most Important Features to Consider When Buying a Power Bank

We’ve had a lot of power banks and portable chargers over the years. If you’re phone is essentially a work tool, as it us for us while we travel, then choosing a portable charger based on design isn’t enough.

Power banks can tell you their theoretical charging capability by that mAh number on them, which is a number that’s often meaningless to most of us. mAh is the battery capacity in layman’s terms. Today’s smartphones have the average battery capacity of 2800mAh. That means that a 6000mAh power bank should fully charge up your phone twice and a tablet 1.5 times.

Aside from mAh, how quickly the power bank charges up our phones, how long the power bank holds it charge and the ease of portability are the most important features to us.

Our Lepow Moonstone is still going strong after years of use

Best Super Long Lasting Power Bank: Lepow Moonstone Portable Charger

We’ve owned our very same Lepow power bank since 2014 and this little guy is still going strong. The version we have is the 6000mAh, which will charge up an iPhone 8 two full charges. Lepow does make a 10000mAh version, though we haven’t had the need to upgrade yet.

We like that the Lepow Moonstone has two USB outputs, which means we can both charge up our iPhones at the same time from one portable charger. We’ve also used this power bank to charge up our DJI Mavic Pro remote controller. One power output is actually a fast charging power bank output, while the other is the same equivalent of plugging your phone in with a wall charger. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge an iPhone from the regular output and half of that to fully charge an iPhone from the fast output.

Lepow Moonstone is capable of holding its charge for weeks at a time. And even though ours is now four years old, it still charges up to 100%, holds its’ charge and charges our iPhones fully twice before the power bank needs recharged. It weighs 5.5 ounces and the square shape is equivalent to putting a powder compact in my purse. Tim can also comfortably put it the s of his cargo shorts, but it’s a little too fat to comfortably put in the s of jeans. It comes with a felt pouch and charging cable.

Fospower Power Active holds up in the most rugged conditions

Best Power Bank for Adventure Travel: Fospower PowerActive Rugged Power Bank

The Fospower PowerActive portable power bank is advertised to be waterproof, snow proof, dirt proof and drop proof. We decided to put it to the test on our trip to Oman, where we spent the majority of our time either diving or in the desert.

It’s 10200mAh, which will fully charge up an iPhone 8 4-5 times. There’s one 2.1A output, so you can only charge up one device at a time but it charges up devices quickly for a full charge in about 1 hour. The power bank holds its charge for about a week.

It weighs 7.8 ounces and it’s compact, but best for carrying inside of a bag or backpack. It’s just slightly too big to really carry in a

As for the waterproof, it can withstand being submerged in 3-feet of water for up to 30 minutes. The cover seal to the port needs to be closed securely, and it withstood getting wet while our bag sat on the floor of the dive boat. It would have also been a great portable charger for iPhone to have during those downpours while we were trekking in Nepal, because it’s just one less electronic device and piece of camera equipment we need to ensure gets stuffed in to a dry sack.

It definitely held its own when it came to being dirt proof. After getting hit with a surprise sandstorm that was like Imhotep had raised up a wall of sand and dropped it down upon us à la The Mummy, the Fospower PowerActive was the only thing not pouring sand out of all of its nooks and crannies for days after. There was layer of dust and sand that covered everything, even inside of our tent, as the wind howled and whipped the fine golden sands of the Rub Al Khali into spinning cyclones traveling across Oman’s Empty Quarter all night long. The only thing that the sand wasn’t practically glued to was the power bank, which easily wiped clean thanks to it’s design.

There’s also a built in flash light, which came in handy for walking around to our tent and just being able to see once dark fell in the desert. Again, the built-in flashlight would have spared us from packing headlamps and power banks on many trips when you’re only using a headlamp to go to an from a bathroom.

The Fospower PowerActive comes with a charging cable, a strap that has a compass on it and a carabiner that attaches to the strap.

Lovie Style Phone Charging Passport Holders come with a slim power bank

Best Multi-Purpose Power Bank: Lovie Style Phone Charging Passport Holder

Even though our go to Lepow mobile power bank can fully charge up an iPhone twice, our work days on media trips can often stretch on for 16 hours. Between constantly recording video for Instagram Story, taking notes and other functions we use our iPhones for, we can drain our batteries quickly. We might charge up two or more times in a day. That’s why I love my Lovie Style phone charging passport holder. I almost always have it with me if we’re traveling to stash away our passports and make sure they stay in their best shape. And the Lovie Style comes with a slim 4000mAh power bank that easily slides in and out of the passport holder. We can grab it for a third iPhone power bank for a long day out.

At 4000mAh, the slim power bank charges up an iPhone fully once. It’s just 1 centimeter thick, so it’s very easy to stash in a purse or without taking up much space at all.

Your article is helpful! I like the one with the flashlight function the most. I bought mine because it was a recommendation of a German travel blogger. It’s called Stay mobile and it has 22400 mAh. So far I am really happy with it. I didn’t use a power bank until this year but now I can’t imagine to go without anymore. It’s really helpful and especially because my iPhone has now a weaker battery.

I like the look of the Anker. My main issue with all of the powerbanks is that they seem prone to failure – and it’s always when I’m travelling. I now take 2 or 3 with me!

wow, I love the power bank wallet that is exactly what I need! I am always wrestling with my power brick and its cords. That is super useful! A good travel accessory

The Lepow looks so cute as well as being hardy and long-lasting! On work trips I carry a hefty 10000mAh Anguo charger – it’s heavy but can charge my iPhone X 4-5 times. I love the passport holder / charger combo – I might have to get myself one of those!

This question nags at me every time I go on vacation, but I’ve never been proactive enough to look for a solution. However, now I’m going to pick up the compact PowerCore Mini to make sure I don’t have this stress on our next vacation in a few weeks. It sounds absolutely perfect for the way I like to travel lightweight!

We have a range of power banks, including a few I’ve been given as freebies by suppliers or clients at work, and others we’ve bought for our travelling. Like you, we have one larger capacity one, too big for a but it can charge our two phones and/ or laptop several times on a single charge. It’s also one that we can recharge via mains or solar, so it’s handy on safari when we don’t have access to electric power outlets everywhere.

I love the convenience of the Lovie Style phone charging passport holder. It sounds pretty effective and what I love most about it is the ability to use it for much more. We are always looking for “juice” and places to plug in when we travel. We a simple power bank but it can only charge one iPhone and then it needs to be recharged. We’ve been talking about upgrading and this article does a great job highlighting several and their benefits. Thanks for the recommendations.

Power banks always confuse me. I have a drawer full of ones that I have collected over the years but they never seem to last. Now I at least know what I’m looking for when selecting one. On another note, that passport charger is going on my Christmas list.

This is a great list and your comparison of products is very helpful, considering the different applications and features that you have highlighted. Next time we need to buy a power bank, I will be clearer on what to look for.

This was a fantastic explanation, I hate my power bank because of how slow it is lol so the first one you mentioned sounds ideal considering it only takes two hours, I’m definitely sold on this and will use your amazing link Jennifer!

best power banks compatible with iPhone and iPad (2023 update)

At first, picking up a power bank for your iPhone should be an easy and enjoyable task. But when you start looking for options, doubts start to pop in.

The thing is that most probably you have more devices than just your iPhone – and that you would like to be able to charge them on the go, as well. Apple Watch, iPad, Bluetooth headphones, a digital camera?

Plus the cables with all possible plug configurations to make sure that any device can be charged. Looks like a lot of stuff to take, while the only thing you need is to emergency charge your iPad or iPhone once every few days.

The more devices you have, the bigger the power bank you would need. On the other hand, high-capacity battery packs are heavy and big. A big power bank capable of charging all your mobile Apple devices could weigh more than all these devices combined.

Plus, there are parameters to consider such as capacity, maximum power output, compatible plugs and ports, and extra features, such as built-in cables, wireless charging, or pass-through technology.

Below, you will find a list of the newest, most innovative power banks that are compatible with iPhone and iPad (some of them can charge your Apple Watch and MacBook, as well).

I personally don’t recommend solar power banks, so you won’t find them in this round-up. Solar power banks are heavier and less reliable than non-solar battery backs, and they can’t be treated as emergency charging solutions, so in the end they won’t give you peace of mind.

My general advice: choose for your iPhone and/or iPad the power bank that meets most of your needs without being too bulky.

Power banks for iPhone and iPad – things to know

Here are the parameters to take into consideration when choosing a power bank:

▸ Capacity – measured in milliampere hours (mAh) – shows the power bank’s maximum charge that can be transferred by a steady current of one milliampere flowing for one hour. The bigger the capacity, the more times you will be able to charge your iPhone.

▸ Power output – measured in watts (W) – shows the power bank’s maximum rate of energy transfer. iPads need chargers with higher power output. So, even if the power adapter has a high capacity, it may not be able to charge the iPad if it has a low power output. Here is a list of original iPhone and iPad power adapters, which is a good power output reference when looking for compatible power banks.

▸ Power delivery – this is the USB port related specification showing how fast a specific port can be in charging the devices with greater power demand. Usually, the fastest power delivery is provided by USB-C ports.

▸ Output ports – the number and kind of ports used to charge connected devices. Please keep in mind that in some power banks USB-C ports work only one way – to charge the power bank itself. That’s why it’s important to double check if the USB-C port is “two-way,” ”in-out,” or “input-output.”

▸ Input ports – the number and kind of ports used to charge the power bank itself. Some ports in a single power bank can be used for both input and output – but some for input only. You should analyze which port serves which purpose if you want to avoid disappointment.

▸ Pass-through technology – if you find this phrase in the description, it means that the power bank is capable of charging the connected devices while it’s connected to the wall power socket.

Power bank flight information

Power banks use lithium-ion batteries which are liable to catch fire, therefore it is prohibited to put them in the check-in luggage (the luggage you leave at the airport to take to the cargo space of the plane).

However, you can keep two power banks in your carry-on luggage (the small luggage you take with you to the plane’s cabin). Their combined capacity should not exceed 27000mAh.

For instance, you can have in your carry-on luggage:

  • One power bank with a capacity 25000mAh, or
  • Two power banks – one with 6000mAh and one with 20000mAh capacity

If you want to take with you on board the power bank that’s capable of charging your iPad, you should pick up the one that has the capacity below 27000mAh but power output 20W or higher.

These iPad and iPhone compatible cases and accessories were tested to survive military-defined conditions.

Best iPhone and iPad compatible power banks

50000mAh battery pack with USB-C input-output port

Our pick: The best power bank to charge both the iPhone and iPad

▸ This is one of the most powerful and reliable battery packs that are currently available on the web. It offers 50000mAh capacity which is enough to charge an iPhone 11 as many as 10 times, and an 11-inch iPad Pro (2021 release) 3 times.

▸ There are 4 ports to charge your devices and 3 ports to charge the power bank itself. It’s worth noting that the USB-C port is two-way – you can use it both for energy input and output.

▸ The fast USB-C output port combined with 18W power output will let you quickly charge not only your iPhone (all models) but also the iPad, even if you have the model that comes with a 20 W power adapter. It will just take a bit more time to fully charge it.

▸ Additionally, the power bank is equipped with an ultra-bright flashlight. There is also a small display showing the battery level – a helpful feature if you want to plan ahead when you should recharge the battery pack.

▸ The power bank is offered on Amazon by Nuxgal. The company offers a free replacement of the product one you encounter any problems, plus there is an 18-month warranty.

▸ The price at the time of updating this post is 52, but it will go up to 56 after the limited-time offer ends.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models, all current iPad models.

Our score: 8.1/10

Magnetic 20W USB-C iPhone power bank stand supporting wireless charging

Our pick: Best wireless charging enabled iPhone compatible power bank

▸ Are you looking for a cable-free power bank that can charge your iPhone wirelessly also when you are using it? Take a look at 633 MagGo (Magnetic Battery) from Anker – a renowned producer of power supply gear.

▸ This compact iPhone-sized battery pack is really clever. Two prominent benefits are combined in this beast: the wireless charging option (no need to take cables with you), and a built-in kick-stand that will let you use your iPhone hands-free.

▸ Anker MagGo 633 comes with 10000mAh capacity, 20W power output, and USB-C port. Thanks to that, you can fast-charge your iPhone 13 almost two times.

▸ To start the wireless charging, just snap the power bank onto the back of your iPhone. The perfectly aligned, strong magnets provide stable charging and strong grip. There is no way the Anker MagGo will fall away while you are holding the iPhone in your hand.

▸ A small but solid kickstand will allow you to place the iPhone on a desk at the vertical position. There is no need to take with you an extra stand, if you want to watch a movie or read an ebook, hands-free.

▸ It’s worth keeping in mind that you can charge your iPhone almost 3 times faster if you do it via the USB-C to Lightning cable.

▸ 2 ft (60 cm) USB-C to USB-C cable is included in the box. There are three colors to choose from: Black, White, and Light Blue.

▸ Anker 633 MagGo comes with a 24-month warranty, and costs 79.99 based on the list price. I haven’t spotted any price deals yet.

✨ Compatible: All iPhone models supporting wireless charging (for wireless charging to work), all iPhone models (for cable charging).

Thin affordable power bank with an accurate battery level display

▸ Charmast is one of the leading producers of power supply accessories. One of the company’s most popular models is this USB-C enabled battery pack, which, compared to other power banks with the similar capacity, is extremely thin. Its depth is only 16 mm, so you can easily slide it into a or a tablet sleeve.

▸ LED displays showing the level of the remaining power are relatively new, and they are usually offered in higher capacity battery packs. This 10400mAh power bank comes with the LED display, as well.

▸ The four color battery level display is highly accurate (still not a common feature in the power bank category). It will display the current battery level to the last 1%.

▸ The power bank’s capacity is 10400mAh, which means you can charge your iPhone between 3 and 8 times (depending on the model). You can also charge your iPad mini 6 at least one time.

▸ Charmast battery pack is offered in four variants: Black, Black with cables, White, and Blue.

▸ The price depends on the variant you choose. The Black color is the cheapest, and you can get it for 19.99. Other variants cost between 25 and 30, but you can expect price cuts from time to time.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models, iPad mini (all generations).

Compact 20W 32000mAh power bank with built-in cables

▸ Although offering as much as 32000mAh of electric charge, this external iPhone and iPad compatible battery pack is extremely compact. It measures 5.7 in (14.5 cm) and weighs 15.9 ounces (450 grams).

▸ The biggest benefit of this particular model are two built-in cables that come with three plugs. One cable ends with a Lightning plug for your iPhone. The cable on the other side is equipped with USB-C and micro USB plugs. Thanks to that, you won’t need to take with you any cables – these three plugs are compatible with most mobile devices.

▸ The 20W power output delivered via the Type-C port means that the power bank can handle even the most power consuming iPad Pro models that come with 20W power adapters.

▸ The power bank is equipped with as many as 13 safety features including the ones protecting against overcharge, overheat, and short circuit. Thanks to that, the life’s battery is prolonged and the power bank is more stable. It can perform 400 high-cycle recharge tests, and the battery will still offer the 80% capacity.

▸ The regular price of the power bank is 49, but at the time of updating this overview we see it dropped to 38.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models, all current iPad models.

Anker PowerCore 40000mAh 30W power bank for iPhone, iPad, and MacBook

▸ From Anker comes the most efficient and versatile battery pack in this overview – the newest Anker 347 PowerCore 40K. It offers 40000mAh capacity, 30W power output, two 2 USB-C, and two USB-A ports.

▸ You can use Anker 347 to charge your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and even MacBook Air – four devices at the same time. The company claims the PowerCore 40K has enough capacity to fully charge iPhone 13 7.5 times and MacBook Air over 2 or more times.

▸ There are two color variants to choose from: Black and White. Each one costs 99.99, but you can see occasional price cuts, usually via featured deals during Black Friday or Prime Day.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models, all current iPad models, 30W powered MacBook Air variants.

Our score: 8.1/10

Ultra-compact direct plug-in iPhone power bank

▸ Here is a clever power bank that can charge your iPhone while you are using it, without all the mess and ugliness created by adding the cables.

▸ This ultra-compact power bank from iWalk is the size of a lipstick. With a Lightning connector that’s mounted directly on its body, you can attach it right under your iPhone. For extra protection, the Lightning connector comes with a cap made of flexible rubber.

▸ With 3350mAh of electric charge, this ultra-small battery pack is a perfect emergency charging tool. You can use it to recharge most iPhone models to their full battery level.

▸ The charger comes with a pass-through technology. It means that you can use it to charge your iPhone at the same time you charge it. It’s a helpful feature if you don’t have the cables and the power adapter to charge your iPhone directly from a wall socket.

▸ You can get iWalk iPhone power bank in one of six colors, including Pink, Light Blue, and Signal Green. The price is set at 25, and I haven’t seen any price cuts in the recent months. You can also have the 2-pack (Black and White variants) for 45.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models.

Our score: 7.8/10

100W iPad and MacBook thin tablet power bank with 2 USB-C ports

▸ If you are looking for an effective tool to charge your iPad or MacBook, you should look for tablet-first battery-pack.

▸ From Baseus comes a power bank that’s tailored to charge tablets and laptops. Its main visual point of difference is the ultra-flat design – it’s only 0.7 in (17 mm) thick. Thanks to that, you can easily put it into the MacBook bag or your iPad sleeve.

▸ The capacity of the power bank is “only” 20000mAh, but when it comes to more power-hungry devices, the main factor is not the capacity but power output. And this power bank offers 100W. It means you can charge not only all iPad or iPad Pro models, but also your MacBook or MacBook Pro.

▸ The 20000mAh capacity is also suitable, if you want to take the power bank with you to the plane. As I mentioned in the facts section of this overview, only two power banks with a combined capacity no higher than 27000mAh are allowed on board.

▸ What’s most important, the battery pack features two in-out USB-C ports supporting 100W output. As a result, you can charge two large devices at the same time, be it your iPad and MacBook. It will take about 30 minutes to charge the battery of the 16-inch MacBook Pro to 35%.

▸ The list price of Baseus iPad-friendly power pack is 130, but any time I checked the product page, the price was down to 99.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone and iPad models, all MacBook and MacBook Pro models.

Our score: 8.0/10

Cheap power bank with four built-in cables and hand loop

▸ Are you looking for an affordable power bank that will recharge your iPhone and most other small mobile devices, old and new, at no extra cost? Take a look at this slim 10000mAh power charger that costs less than 20.

▸ The biggest benefit of this particular battery pack is about connection options. You won’t need to buy extra cables with specific plugs for specific devices, because most output options are provided by four built-in cables.

▸ The power bank comes with cables featuring the following plugs: Lightning, micro USB, USB-C, and USB-A. Thanks to that, you will recharge your iPhone, your next iPhone (which may come with a Type-C port instead of Lightning) or a really old device that you can recharge only via USB-A connection.

▸ A clever thing about this power bank is the Lightning cable that doubles as a hand loop. Plus, there is also a small LED screen that displays the current battery status.

▸ The battery pack comes with Amazon Choice badge, and is highly popular on Amazon. You can choose from two color variants: Black and White. The regular price is 32, but for a long time the price was reduced to 18.99 (42% off).

▸ For extra 10 you can get a version with 20W power delivery and 20000mAh capacity, which is also enough for your iPad.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models.

Innovative 5-in-1 iPhone-ready 10000mAh power bank charger

Our pick: Most versatile power bank for iPhone

▸ From Charmast comes an innovative battery pack that offers five features in one:

  • 10000mAh compact-size power bank,
  • USB-C port for both input and output,
  • LED display with a remaining battery capacity,
  • built-in cables with three plugs: Lightning, USB-C, and micro USB,
  • built-in, foldable, AC plug

▸ The biggest benefit and the most innovative feature is the foldable AC plug. You can plug the power bank directly to the wall socket for fast recharging without the need to use any cables. What’s more, while the power bank sits in the wall, you will be able to recharge the connected devices, so it works like a power strip.

▸ The built-in cables let you charge even three devices simultaneously: one iPhone via the Lightning port, one iPad via the USB-C port, and one more device via the micro USB port. Please note that, while the iPad is shown in the visualization, you will only be able to partially recharge it, as the power bank’s capacity is too low.

▸ This iPhone-ready power bank and charger comes in two color variants: Black and White. Each one costs 39.99, but you can hunt for frequent deals that will let you get it for under 30.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models. Partial recharge of current iPad models.

▸ The producer claims that on average you can use it for three weeks on one charge. You can recharge the power bank with the 9V 2A power adapter in less than 16 hours.

▸ Romoss offers 22.5W power output (enough for any iPad) and PD 3.0 fast charging via USB-C port. It can recharge your iPhone 12 times, and the iPad Pro (the model is not specified) – even 4 times.

▸ Please keep in mind that, while looking pretty slim, this power bank is not lightweight. It weighs 2.9 pounds (1.3 kilograms).

▸ The red-colored LED display will let you check out the charging status, voltage, and remaining battery level.

▸ The list price is set at 90, but you can get it for under 70 pretty often.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone and iPad models.

Ultra-portable 9000mAh wireless power bank for iPhone and Apple Watch

▸ The first thing to decide when picking up the power bank is which of your devices are you going to charge the most. If you need to recharge your iPhone and Apple Watch during the day, take a look at the wireless charging power bank from iWalk.

▸ The design has a round shape and strong magnets on the front side. It’s done on purpose – you can wrap your Apple Watch around the power bank to immediately start the wireless charging on the go.

▸ The 9000mAh capacity is enough to charge your Apple Watch about 20 times and iPhone between 1 and 2 times.

▸ The built in Lightning cable lets you charge the iPhone the same time you charge the Apple Watch. Plus, the power bank sports the pass-through technology, so that you can plug it into the wall socket to pass the energy to two connected devices.

▸ The power bank is available in four color variants: Black, White, Pink, and Light Green. The regular price is set at 45.99. The device is selling very well all year long so it’s hard to find any price deal.

✨ Compatible: All current iPhone models, all Apple Watch models except Series 1.

25W 33800mAh iPhone and iPad power bank with wireless charging pad

Our pick: Best value-for-money power bank for iPhone and iPad

▸ This slim and lightweight power bank combines the almost perfect set of features designed for the heavy user of both the iPhone and iPad.

▸ The power bank comes with wireless charging pad, so when it comes to the latest iPhones, you don’t even need a cable. The wireless charging offers 5, 7.5, 10, and maximum 15W power output, and can fast charge most other Qi-enabled devices.

▸ You can obviously charge your iPhone and iPad via the cable. With 25W and PD 4.0, you can fast charge your iPhone to the full battery level in less than 30 minutes.

▸ What’s more, the battery pack offers 5 simultaneous charging outputs. The 25W output/input is performed by USB-C port. 33800mAh is enough to fully recharge your iPhone up to 10 times.

best, power, banks, compatible, iphone

▸ The list price of this feature-packed wireless power bank is 39, but quite frequently it goes down to a bit more than 30.

✨ Compatible: All iPhone models (wireless charging available for wireless charging enabled models), all current iPad models.

Our score: 8.1/10

Manage Your Day-to-Day: Build Your Routine, Find Your Focus, and Sharpen Your Creative Mind

The world we work in today is not the world of Michelangelo, of Marie Curie, of Ernest Hemingway, or even of Paul Rand. It is a new world, empowered and entranced by the Rapid-fire introduction of new technologies—a world where our metaphysical front door is always open, where anyone can whisper in our ear, where a “room of one’s own” no longer means you’re all alone.

Creative minds are exceedingly sensitive to the buzz and whir of the world around them, and we now have to contend with a constant stream of chirps, pings, and alerts at all hours of the day. As these urgent demands tug us this way and that, it becomes increasingly difficult to find a centered space for creativity.

Taking stock of this challenging new landscape, 99U’s Manage Your Day-to-Day assembles insights around four key skill sets you must master to succeed: building a rock-solid daily routine, taming your tools (before they tame you), finding FOCUS in a distracted world, and sharpening your creative mind.

Dedicating a chapter to each of these FOCUS areas, we invited a group of seasoned thought leaders and creatives—Seth Godin, Stefan Sagmeister, Tony Schwartz, Gretchen Rubin, Dan Ariely, Linda Stone, Steven Pressfield, and others—to share their expertise. Our goal was to come at the problems and struggles of this new world of work from as many angles as possible.

Because we each have a unique set of strengths, weaknesses, and sensitivities, it is impossible to prescribe a single approach that will work for everyone. The right solution for you will always be personal—an idiosyncratic combination of strategies based on your own work demands, habits, and preferences.

Best Power Banks for iPhone 7

Apple made a big change when it came to the iPhone 7 and that change was removing the headphone jack. The rumors circulated like crazy before the release of the phone but we finally figured out that we were indeed going to have to stop using our wired headphones with their newest smartphone and accept the new standard of wireless audio.

Even though it was quite hard to believe that they would remove such a vital part of the phone, it’s ultimately more useful to use wireless headsets as you don’t have to deal with wires.

The same can be said about wall chargers and portable chargers. Wall chargers require that you keep your devices close to the charger and have it stay there until your phone is charged up. While portable charger allows you to roam free.

In the case of chargers though, using a portable charger is a much easier thing to accept and that’s why we’ve chosen the best power banks for the iPhone 7. As using Bluetooth can actually drain the battery faster, so you’re going to want portable power with you so you can keep listening to your music while you’re on the go.

Top Power Banks in this Guide:

When it comes to the charging speed of the iPhone 7, things are kept quite standard and that’s because the iPhone 7 and any iPhone for that matter isn’t Quick Charge compatible.

best, power, banks, compatible, iphone

Of course, the newer iPhone X and iPhone 8 are USB-C Power Delivery compatible, but that’s not what we’re talking about right now.

For charging the iPhone 7 at its fastest charging speed, you have to make sure that you get a power bank that has an output charging speed of 5V/2.4A, or if you want to push the charging speed a little further then you should use a USB-C port and use a USB-C to Lightning charging cable to charge your iPhone 7.

Jackery Bolt Power Bank with Two Built-in Charging Cables

The first power bank that we want to recommend for the iPhone 7 is the Jackery Bolt portable charger. This charger doesn’t have the highest power, but it does have a lot of versatility and that’s because it has two built-in charging cables and it has three overall ways to charge your devices.

The two built-in cables with this power banks are a Lighting cable that you’re able to use to charge your iPhone 7 or for any iPhone or iPad that uses Lighting for charging.

The other cable is the Micro-USB cable and that’s useful for charging the many Android smartphones that use Micro-USB. That said, if you want to be more up to date when it comes to Android devices with the Jackery Bolt power bank, there’s a Jackery Bolt version that has a 10,050mAh capacity and uses a USB-C cable instead of a Micro-USB cable.

The third output of this power bank is the USB-A port and that’s useful for using any cable that you want. So you’re able to use each of the charging methods all at once or a single at a time. Charging speed with the Lightning cable is 5V/2.4A and can, therefore, can charge your iPhone 7 at its max charging speed.

The Micro-USB port has a slow charging rate of 5V/1.0A, and the USB port has a charging rate of 5V/2.4A. The max output of this charger is 2.4A, so the more devices that you charge at once means that each of the devices will receive is a slower charging rate.

Recharging this power bank is done through the Micro-USB input port which has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A.

The power capacity of this particular one that we recommend has a power capacity of 6,000mAh and that’s enough to charge the iPhone 7 to its full power about two times, or you can use that extra capacity to charge another phone to its full power too.

The size of this portable charger is one of the best parts as it fits three charging methods and a good amount of power in a length of 4.3 inches, a width of 1.9 inches and a thickness of 0.9 inches. It also has a flashlight in case you need to use it.

Specs of the Jackery Bolt 6,000mAh Power Bank with Built-in Cables:

One of our most recommends portable charger is the Anker PowerCore 10000. The reason for that is because it’s one of the most optimized standard portable chargers on the market. It has a power capacity of 10,000mAh and so you can very well charge your iPhone to full power with it about 2.5 or 3 times, as long as you’re using the capacity to solely charge your iPhone. You most likely are going to only charge just your iPhone with this as it only uses a single port, and that’s quite strange as most 10,000mAh portable chargers use two ports, but it’s better this way since the capacity is just being focused on a single device at a time. Charging port with this power bank is very good as the single port outputs a charging speed of 5V/2.4A. So your iPhone 7 will be able to charge at a very fast rate. Recharging is done the rough the Micro-USB input port that has a recharge rate of 5V/2.4A. The sizing of this charger is perhaps the main that it’s so famous and that would be because you get its 10,000mAh power capacity and powerful charging with a length of 3.6 inches, a width of 2.4 inches and a thickness of 0.9 inches. So you can easily fit this charger into your Another power bank that’s quite similar is PowerCore 13000 which is also from Anker. It does have a high power capacity of 13,000mAh, and it has two ports with each of the port using a charging speed of 5V/3.0A. So you’re able to charge an iPhone at its max charging rate with either of the ports and you can charge two devices at once with the PowerCore 13000. It also has a smaller size.

Specs of the Anker PowerCore 10,000 Portable Charger:

RAVPower is one of the best brands to purchase your portable chargers from and basically, just any charging electronics and that’s because they make innovative products. This power bank of theirs has a few different parts that are going to prove very useful.

It has two ways to charge for it and that would be the built-in Lightning charging cable and it also has a USB-A port that you can use with any charging cable. The Lightning cable has an output changing the speed of 5V/2.4A that you can use to charge your iPhone 7 at a very fast charging rate. The USB port has a charging rate of 5V/1.0A. The max output of this power bank is 3.4A.

The max output isn’t shared with both of the output ports but the good news is that you’re able to use the max that each of the outputs has to offer.

Recharging this power bank is another innovative part as this charger uses an AC adapter to recharge and therefore you just have to plug it into an AC Outlet to recharge it.

That way, you can use this power bank as a USB wall charger when it’s connected to an Outlet. Overall, you won’t even need a separate charging cable if you get this power bank if all you’re doing is charging your iPhone 7 with it as it has a built-in cable and an AC adapter.

The power capacity is a good amount of 9,000mAh to use which can charge an iPhone to full power about two times.

Specs of the RAVPower 9,000mAh Power Bank Built-in Lightning Cable:

Built-In Lightning Cable: 5V/2.4A

USB Output Port: 5V/1.0A

  • Input: 100-240V/0.3A
  • LED Power Indicators: 4 LED Dotted Power Capacity Indicators
  • Size: 4.5 x 2.8 x 1.1 inches
  • Weight: 8.6 Ounces

Jumping into the very high capacity range brings us this 30,000mAh power bank from Aukey. This amount of power capacity is able to charge an iPhone to full power multiple times and if all you’re doing is charging your iPhone 7 with this charger then you’re going to be able to use it consistently without having to recharge it for about a week.

Charging output this with this power bank is very powerful as it has two output charging ports with each of the ports being able to output a charging rate of 5V/2.4A and the max output of the charger is 4.8A.

So you can charge your iPhone 7 at its max charging speed with one port and charge another standard device at the time such as an iPad with the other port at its max charging speed too.

Recharging this power bank is one of the best parts and that’s because it uses two input ports. One of the input ports is the Micro-USB input and the other input is a Lightning input. Not many power banks use Lightning inputs, but since this one doesn’t you’re able to use a USB-A to Lightning cable to recharge this power bank, which is the same cable that you use to charge your iPhone 7.

We realize this power bank uses a lot of power, and as a result, it has a high price, that said, you can go with the 20,000mAh power capacity version that has a lower price and still has the same specs. With it still using a Lightning input and two USB-A charging ports.

Aukey 30,000mAh Portable Charger with Quick Charge 3.0:

Quick Charge 3.0 Port Charging Speeds: 3.6V-6.5V/3A, 6.5V-9V/2A, 9V-12V/1.5A

AiPower Port Charging Speed: 5V/2.4A

USB Type-C Output Port: 5V/3.0A

USB Type-C Input Port: 5V/2.0A Individual Usage: 5V/3.0A

Micro-USB Input Port: 5V/2.0A Individual Usage: 5V/2.4A

  • LED Power Indicators: Power Button Indicates 3 Colors
  • Size: 5.9 x 3.3 x 1.1 inches
  • Weight: 1.4 Pounds

One of the best mini power banks that you can own is slim portable chargers. They basically have all the same attributes from a mini charger but in a slim form factor. In this case, this PowerCore 5000 slim charger goes a little further and that’s because it has a 5,000mAh power capacity that can charge an iPhone 7 to its full power 1.5 times.

This charger uses a single USB-A port which has a charging rate of 5V/2.0A and the recharging Micro-USB input with this power bank is 5V/2.0A. So it doesn’t have a 2.4A charging rate that can charge your iPhone at its max charging rate but it comes close and most mini power banks have a slower charge rate of 5V/1.0A, so it at least gets close.

The form factor is the main reason that you’re going to get this power bank as it only has a thickness of 0.4 inches so it can easily slide right into a along with your phone and charge it at the same time.

It has a curved side that you can use to hold it in your hand and then the opposite side this power bank has ridges where you would place your iPhone so it stays stable while you use and charge your phone at the same time.

Specs of the Anker PowerCore 5000 Slim:

In the mid-range power bank category, this OLALA 13,000mAh power bank is a choice for charging your iPhone 7. It had a good amount of power capacity that can charge an iPhone 7 to its full power about three times. Charging with it is also a good experience with its two ways of charging.

It has a built-in Lightning cable that can charge your iPhone 7 right out of the box. The other method of charging is the USB port which can be used with any charging cable. Each of the output methods has a charge rate of 5V/2.4A. The max output of the power bank is 2.4A. So that’s one downside as you can’t use the max power of each of the ports at the same time.

Recharging this power bank is done through a Micro-USB input that has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A. The size of this power bank is also very good as it has a short rectangle size the can fit into your

Specs of the OLALA 13,000mAh Power Bank:

Lightning Output: 5V/1.0A

  • Input: 5V/2.0A Via Micro-USB Input
  • LED Power Indicators: 4 LED Dotted Power Capacity Indicators
  • Size: 5.4 x 3 x 0.9 inches
  • Weight: 10.4 Ounces

This AUKEY charger has a very high power capacity of 26,500mAh. It’s able to charge smartphone and tablet to full power many times over, and it’s going to be a while before you actually have to recharge this power bank.

There are a total of four output charging ports. There’s a single port with an output charging rate of 5V/2.4A and the other two USB-A ports have a charging rate of 5V/3.0A. The fourth output of this power bank is the USB-C port and it has a charging rate of 5V/3.0A that you can use with a USB-C to C charging cable to charge USB-C compatible devices.

You can even use the USB-C port to charge your iPhone 7 at a faster rate with a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.

Recharging this power bank is also a blast as it has three input ports. One is a Micro-USB input, there’s a USB-C input and lastly, there’s a Lightning input that is useful for when you own an iPhone.

Specs of the Aukey 26,500mAh Power Bank with 4 Outputs and 3 Inputs:

Initial Capacity: 26,500mAh

Output Capacity: 19,500mAh

USB-A Port 1/2: 5V/3.0A

USB-A Port 3: 5V/2.4A

Micro-USB Input: 5V/2.0A

Lightning Input: 5V/1.5A

USB-C Input: 5V/3.0A

At the start of this article, we mentioned the Jackery Bolt which had built-in cables. This is another power bank from Jackery which is quite similar to the Bolt, as it has a 6,000mAh power capacity. However, the major difference with this charger is that it doesn’t have any built-in cables.

Instead, this is more of a regular charger that uses the just single port and the charging speed is 5V/2.1A for the output and can charge therefore charge the iPhone 7 close to its charging speed. Recharging this power bank is done through a Micro-USB input port and it has a recharge rate of 5V/2.0A.

Overall this power bank is great if you don’t want the built-in cables that come with the Jackery Bolt and it has a length of 3.8 inches and a thickness of 0.9 inches. So it’s very short and can go with you anywhere that you want it to.

Specs of the Jackery Bar Premium 6,000mAh External Battery Charger:

The final best power bank that we recommend getting for your iPhone 7 is the Jackery Air 6. This power bank doesn’t have the most power capacity and it actually has some very weak charging.

That said, merely the small size and very slim form factor of this charger are really good reasons that you should purchase it. It has a 3,000mAh power capacity, so you’re only going to be able to charge your Jackery Air 6 with it full power only once.

The charging output and input speed for this Air 6 is 5V/1.0A, and so it will charge your iPhone 7 at a slower rate than the 2.4A charging speed. However, the best part of this power bank is the size and weight.

That’s because it has a length of 4.6 inches, a width of 2.4 inches, and a thickness of 0.3 inches. The weight of the charger is 3.3 ounces and overall, it’s basically like having another smartphone on you, or actually something lighter than that.
